A former labor analyst for Disney Cruise Line has filed a legal action alleging that he was victimized by sexual harassment and age discrimination and that he was subjected to a hostile work environment and bullying. According to the complaint, the man’s younger female manager bragged about sleeping with married men from the office, bullied him about his ageand overlooked him for promotions.
The employee said that his manager referred to him as a “stuffy old fart” while his coworkers were present and refused to provide him with an iPad or iPhone as she did for other staff who were below the age of 40. Allegedly, the woman also ignored him when promotion opportunities were available and stole his medication for attention deficit disorder.
Finally, the man said that after he complained to the human resources department concerning his manager’s behavior and treatment of him, he was dismissed from his job. The reason for the dismissal was the accusation that he was taking illegal drugs. He was then replaced by a younger woman. According to the complaint, every leader at his workplace over 40 years of age was “either systematically terminated or resigned” while this manager was present.
Although it’s not as common for sexual harassment claims to be filed by male workers, these cases do happen from time to time. Indeed, the law protects male workers in the same way that it protects female workers from gender discrimination and sexual harassment. If you’re a male worker who has suffered from this kind of abuse, you might want to reach out to a Florida family law attorney for assistance.
